Mediation Fee Schedule
Mediator/Arbitrator Fees may be charged by:
Mediator Half-Daysm: Recognizing that a lawyer’s half-day is not limited to four hours, Appropriate Dispute Resolution mediators/arbitrators provide up to five hour half-days. The Mediator Half-Daysm includes: one hour of pre-session prep time; pre-session conferences (by phone, in person, individual and joint; there is no charge for the first 15 minutes per party up to three parties), if any; up to four in-session hours; and, post-initial-session contact by telephone, email or mail (there is no charge for most post-session contact).
Mediator Full-Daysm : Recognizing that a lawyer’s full-day is not limited to eight hours, Appropriate Dispute Resolution mediators/arbitrators provide up to ten hour full-days. The Mediator Full-Daysm includes: one hour of pre-session prep time, pre-session conferences (by phone, in person, individual and joint; there is no charge for the first 15 minutes per party up to three parties), if any; up to nine in-session hours; and, post-initial-session contact by telephone, email or mail (there is no charge for most post-session contact).
Additional Time: Mediator time beyond that originally billed will be charged at $425.00 per hour.
Travel Charges. There is no charge for up to two (2) hours local travel time within Los Angeles, San Diego and Orange Counties (travel time beyond 2 hours is billed at an hourly rate). Charges for travel outside of Los Angeles, San Diego and Orange counties are determined based upon location and include reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses (airline, hotel, ground transportation, etc.).
Convening/Case Coordination Fee: A $60 charge per party. This Fee covers getting the agreement of both parties to mediate, getting the mediation “on calendar”, and coordinating attendance of necessary parties at the session. This Fee is due within five (5) days of confirmation of the calendar date in order to hold that date.

PAYMENT POLICY: Parties must deposit fees two (2) weeks prior to the mediation session or arbitration hearing to reserve the date. (Additional fee deposits are required where multiple sessions are needed and before the start of each session.) Payment on Statements for Services is due upon receipt.
CANCELLATION, CONTINUANCE, REFUND POLICY: We recognize that sometimes things unexpected happen that can cause a mediation session to be continued. We trust that you will understand that your mediation reservation gives your time slot exclusively to you. If your mediation is continued or cancelled, there is a fee charged to the party requesting the change. This charge increases if the request is made within twenty (20) days of the reserved date. The full amount of the Mediator and Convening fees are nonrefundable if the request is made within one week of the reserved date.
